Cross-Faculty Research School

Doctoral programmes within 11 fields of the arts, including Design; Crafts; Digital Representation; Photography; Independent Filmmaking; Fine Art; Musical Performance and Interpretation; Performance in Theatre and Music Drama; Literary Composition Poetry and Prose; Music Education; and Arts Education have been offered at the Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts since 2001.

Our cross-faculty Research School
creates a unique research environment

Our doctoral programmes are organised within a cross-faculty Research School. By our being able to offer cross-faculty as well as subject-specific activities we can create a research environment in which the research questions of the different art forms and the artistic processes that shape these come together and give rise to new insights. By doing so, we are able to create a new platform for reflection within the domain of artistic research - which not only serves our Research School and our institutions but also the University of Gothenburg as a whole.
