The Faculty of Fine, Applied and Performing Arts, as is also the case with the University of Gothenburg as a whole, is environmentally certified in accordance with the standards of the ISO14001certification system. This means that the Faculty has an environmental management system that fulfils the requirements that apply to research, education and collaboration with the surrounding community, within the areas of music/drama and art/form, and also within the area of artistic development work.
The University of Gothenburg is the first university in Sweden that is environmentally certified. There are only a small number of environmentally-certified universities in the rest of the world and according to the Swedish Environmental Management Council, the University of Gothenburg is the first university to be EMAS-registered in Europe.
