Her singular phrasing and personal interpretation of lyrics is still fascinating today. Moreover, she was joint composer of several jazz standards including God Bless the Child and Fine and Mellow. Here we can enjoy music that is strongly associated with Billie Holiday, as performed in their own style by students from the improvisation programme.

At around the turn of the 15th/16th century Spain entered an era of economic and political greatness - a result of energetic voyages of discovery and conquests of new lands. Spanish music also experienced a golden age. The Gothenburg ensemble Convivium Musicum has made an in-depth study of the collection of songs called Cancionero de Palacio from this period and here offer a selection of all the profane songs they found. How often have you heard a sextet or a concert consisting of up to 15 pianos? This project started as a collaboration between Conservatorio di Musica E.F. Dall' Abaco in Verona, Italy and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow. Now Gothenburg has joined in. Composers in the participating countries contribute new pieces for massed pianos. Concerts are given in each country by local and visiting pianists from the different schools under the direction of the conductor and composer Carlo Miotto from Verona.
